The body repair shop has changed dramatically in the last few years. First zinc coated steels, then HSS steels and now aluminium and boron coated steels.
Bodyshops have had to change too. Welding equipment must now be able to weld a much wider variety of materials, requiring higher currents and forces, but still from a typical 30A mains supply.
PW's response is this range of high quality Medium Frequency equipment. Operating at 6.5kHz, the unique transformer can deliver 16,000A of current from a 32A supply.
The current is rectified DC, giving faster welding, more consistency, bigger spots and removing the loss in current on long arms.
MF is the technology being used by the car manufacturers – PW supplies them worldwide with the equipment for the factories – now the same technology is available to UK bodyshops.
