There are many occasions when a single robotic weld gun will not access all the welds on a component. It then becomes necessary to install a gun change system.

PW offers systems from several leading manufacturers, integrated into the weld gun. A variety of gun park stands is also available, so that the gun not in use can be stored safely and environmental pollution (weld dust etc.) kept out of the gun change components.

Any number of guns can be used, so a manufacturer with a single robot cell but many products may have five or six guns available to cover the full range of applications. Guns are individually identified by the robot control system

Gun change systems are often expensive and there are many applications where by manipulating the component, a smaller (and therefore cheaper) robot may be used. In this case PW offers weld guns on fixed stands. These are adjustable and permit the mounting of up to two guns on a single stand. Special stands can also be manufactured.
