Shunts

Flexible Shunts
Crucial to the performance of spot welding machines, flexible shunt technology is more complex than it may at first seem.
The correct design and material selection will radically change the life of a shunt.
PW's exclusive tinned copper material reduces shunt temperature without the high cost of silver plating.
Standard copper down to 0.002" is also used. Shunts should be designed to the correct operating radius and the end caps, which can be either hydraulically crimped or welded, made to ensure the shunt follows the correct working radius.

Shunts should always be replaced when 10% of the leaves are broken. Beyond
this, severe overheating will occur, diminishing the machine's performance.
PW will make shunts for large or small machines to any size required. A simple dimensional sketch showing the overall dimensions and the hole centres is all that is required.
